Curl Care

I get a lot of questions about what I use in my hair so... here it is.

I've been natural since 2005. After high school I just decided I didn't want to relax my hair anymore. I didn't do a big chop. I slowly cut out the relaxer. I let it grow very long (mid back), then just decided to cut it all off.

It took me years of trial and error to figure out what worked best in my hair. Right now, my favorite shampoo is Not Your Mother's Clean Freak. It's free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, and dyes. It's also infused with mint, which feels great on your scalp. I only shampoo once every 2 weeks. I co-wash every few days. I was using the OGX Brazilian Keratin conditioner for years, but few weeks ago, the store I was at was out of that product so I decided to try something new. I picked up the Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter Conditioner and I love it. It leaves my hair just as soft as the OGX and it's also free of parabens.

While my hair is still soaking wet, I apply Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk as a leave in conditioner. This is one of my favorite products. I've used it for years. After I put in the moisturizer, I use Eco Styler gel. With wet hands I spread it throughout my hair then flip my head upside-down and twirl pieces around my finger. I flip my head back over and adjust the curls to lay how I want them. Last, I seal my hair with Shea Moisture Reconstructive Finishing Elixir.

Everyone's hair is different, but this is what works for me. In general, products free of harsh chemicals are good for anyone's hair. I hope this helps! Feel free to contact me with any questions :).
