Cooking for two can be tricky when one person eats plant based and the other isn't quite about that life. The Beyond Meat Beefy Crumbles are a great meat sub Avery and I both enjoy. They're vegan and soy free (not all of their products are soy free).
I normally try to stay away from soy, but I'll do tofu or other forms of soy protein every now and then. There are so many studies on the effects of soy. It can be a bit confusing and overwhelming. Is it good for you? Should you ditch it? My beef with soy in the U.S. is that most of it is genetically modified. If you think you're avoiding it by skipping the obvious forms (soy beans, soy milk, tofu, soy burgers, etc.), you're mistaken my friend. Do you eat chicken, beef, or pork? Well, you eat soy too. Most of the animals you're eating are fed a lot of soy. The stuff is pretty hard to avoid. Enough of my soy rant.
You can find the Beyond Meat Crumbles at most grocery stores. The price point is good and they are super easy to prepare. Click/tap here or the picture above to see a super simple pasta dish I made.
